Reagan has performed across Europe and Africa, touring countries like Kenya, Tunisia, Norway, Uganda, Lithuania, Italy, France, Denmark, Croatia, Slovenia, and Sweden. He shares his musical talents and knowledge with diverse audiences during these tours.
He also writes engaging songs that reflect the traditional rhythms and melodies of Kenya. As a music teacher, Reagan has taught people of all ages in Denmark, Sweden, and Kenya, including former street children and youth, who have found hope and purpose through music.
Reagan is the founder and executive director of Reagan-Afro Percussion in Sweden and M-Tafsiri Africa, a non profit organization in Kenya and Sweden. His organizations focus on cultural and creative initiatives.
With 25 years of experience in creative and cultural fields, project management, social work, and community development, he enjoys building cross-cultural connections with partner communities.
Reagan is also an entrepreneur offering several services, including organizing concerts, music residency programs, and private lessons. He runs folk music camps, builds instruments, and provides training in management and leadership for cultural projects.
Reagan Oduor Nyachieng’a began learning Kenyan traditional music at the age of ten. He is a professional freelance musician, percussionist, teacher, and instrument builder.
He also organizes Global Folk Music Exchange Camps in Kenya; he took courses in Ethno Fonik in France and became an artistic mentor and organizer. He is dedicated to his heritage and strives to empower underprivileged Kenyan youth through music and cultural exchange.
In December 2024, Kenya's Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs honored Reagan with the Talanta Award. This award recognized his efforts to promote traditional Kenyan music in Kenya and the Nordic countries, as well as his work helping young musicians develop their folk music skills.
